AUSTRALIA'S valuers have confirmed the hype - going ''green'' definitely increases the value of an office building. The buildings worth the most are those that have the best energy rating, the Australian Property Institute found in a report it said was the first rigorous assessment of green office buildings in the nation. The City of Sydney is working with businesses large and small to make Sydney an environmental leader with innovative new programs to cut energy, water and carbon pollution costs. NABERS environmental ratings for buildings extending to six stars

The NABERS rating scale, which CitySwitch Signatories use to rate and improve performance, has been extended to 6 stars. The new 6-star rating was today officially launched by Office of Environment and Heritage Chief Executive Lisa Corbyn at an industry forum at Darling Park Tower in Sussex Street, Sydney. Read more> 

 

Congratulations Signatory Green Globe winners

The 10th NSW Green Globe Awards held on 26 July 2011 recognised CitySwitch Signatory Investa Property Group with the prestigious Premier’s Award for Sustainability Excellence for their efforts to green their property portfolio. In addition, the property group was announced the winner of both the Built Environment Sustainability Award and the Climate Leadership Award for their North Sydney tri-generation precint. Adelaide celebrates exceeding its CitySwitch 09/10 NLA targets

Lord Mayor Michael Harbison hosted a civic reception at the Adelaide Town Hall on Monday 20th September 2010 to welcome 15 new City Switch Signatories to the program, adding a further 65,000sqm to its NLA target, bringing the total NLA to 120,000sqm or 12% of the Adelaide CBD. Read more>
