Graham QuirkLord Mayor, Brisbane City Council
Brisbane City Council has partnered with other capital city councils to deliver the national tenant energy efficiency program, CitySwitch Green Office. As the local government of one of Australia’s largest central business districts, Brisbane City Council is serious about dealing with climate change. By setting specific and direct emission reduction targets of at least 50 percent, Council is already working hard to ensure Brisbane becomes a carbon neutral city by 2026. From the CEO level down, Brisbane City Council is also asking local organisations to commit to energy management within their workplace. Council is proud to stand side by side with organisations that pledge their support and will work with them to achieve this commitment.
To date, 53 tenancies have committed to reducing their carbon pollution, with these CitySwitch Signatories currently representing over 178,000 sqm of commercial office space across Brisbane.
