The only cost associated with CitySwitch Green Office is the cost of undertaking an annual NABERS Energy tenancy or whole building rating to determine your progress in achieving your CitySwitch Commitment.

Breakdown of costs 

The NABERS Energy rating is a combination of the:

• Accredited Assessor's fees and charges
• NSW Office of Environment & Heritage (OEH) administration fee.

There is no set fee charged by NABERS Accredited Assessors to undertake a NABERS Energy rating. The cost of a rating will depend on the size of your tenancy and the time and difficulty involved in gathering the appropriate data.

As a rough guide, if your tenancy is around 1,500m² you should expect to pay between $1,000 - $4,000. However, as with any other product or service, compare quotes before selecting an Assessor.

Each CitySwitch Signatory is entitled to a discount on the OEH administration fee component of the rating cost. This fee is charged by OEH to certify the rating.

Note: The NABERS Accredited Assessors' costs should be lower after the first year's rating, provided you maintain the same Assessor for subsequent ratings.

OEH administration fee discount

As part of OEH's significant commitment and support to CitySwitch, the administration fee charged for ratings carried out by or on behalf of Signatories has been significantly reduced:

• Signatories who occupy less than 1,000 sqm will not be charged a fee
• Signatories who occupy over 1,000 sqm will be charged the reduced fee of $350 (excl. GST) - a saving of 50 per cent

Using projections of ratings for the national program, OEH's support for the advancement of tenant energy efficiency through CitySwitch represents an in-kind funding of over $165,000.
