Why do I need to rate my office?

CitySwitch Green Office uses NABERS Energy’s formal assessment and reporting process to help tenancies reduce greenhouse emissions, improve office energy efficiency and save money.

By rating your office with NABERS Energy, you receive an accredited benchmark upon which to base your ongoing performance and energy efficiency achievements.

When tenants commit to participate in CitySwitch they formally agree to:

  • achieve an accredited 4 stars or higher NABERS Energy tenancy rating
  • undertake an accredited NABERS Energy rating within three months of joining to benchmark their current energy performance
  • undertake an accredited NABERS Energy rating annually to determine their progress towards meeting their CitySwitch Commitment.

Each year, Signatories provide feedback on their progress to the Program Manager located in their state. This information is included in the annual CitySwitch Progress Report Executive Briefing which is presented to the Lord Mayors/Mayors during a formal feedback session and is attended by all Signatories.
